Surrounded by smiles,

Fully alone,

Vacant,

A piercing state of awareness.

Free falling into numbness,

How else to protect?

Why pursue what may never connect?

The nerves trickle down the line. 

Fallacy or not,

Is it too much to be wanted?

Redlined,

Past actions set in stone. 

Exits impossible to see,

Hope buried beneath anger,

Alone,

Deep loneliness our closest friend.
