Tensile

From the fabric of God,

A strand seen thin,

Beyond strength or damage,

It shines as platinum in moonlight,

Wrapped around my heart,

Woven into my mind,

Connected to my very soul.

In this and every life,

The strand now remains,

Known only to those it binds,

Weaving with time,

Outside consciousness,

Inside hope,

Waiting to be pulled.

Glimmering clearly,

Constricting relentlessly,

Reminding over and over,

With gently crafted words,

With elegantly formed chords,

A resonant strand holds true.
